look here outside on 95 and white marsh, traffic moving right along. no delays heading into the city and if you are using the beltway. parkville no problems to report here at harford road. normal conditions 11 minute to travel the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and oh on the west side of the beltway no problems to report. nine minute from the outer loop from 795 down do 70. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. he was so close to graduating high school. so ready to pursue his creams but a crash in -- dreams but a crash in carol county ended the 17-year-old's life. >> linda not just the community, school too correct? >> reporter: michael mcverry was a senior at westminster high school. so thunderstorm night, the -- tomorrow night the varsity football team will dedicate the game to his family when they play in the regional finals. police say alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash that killed the 17-year-old tuesday night. it happened on deer park road in carol county. mcverry was riding in a car

driven by 18-year-old nic gaetani. their car crossed the lane and hit a dodge neon. the driver of the knee won was treated and released and gaetani still being streeted at -- treated at shock trauma. neighbors knew right away something terrible had happened. >> when the impact happened it shook my house. and that was my first intention was okay, did somebody hit the house or maybe some type of explosion you know happening downstairs in the basement or whatever. >> reporter: now his friend plan to hold a vigil in his honor and counselors are on hand at westminster high school. linda so, abc2 news. police officer is now facing allegations of sexual abuse. roberto santiago has been suspended because of an investigation going on in harford county. accused of sexually assaulting a connecticut girl who was visiting family and friends in edgewood. he was suspended by police back in june when he was accused of assaulting a neighbor. the mta says that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the bus

brawl that was all caught on camera. you can see the driver fighting with the passenger in the video. spokesman terry owens says mta police won't be making an arrest because no weapons were used and no one was seriously hurt and police didn't witness the fight. the driver could still lose her job and right now she's been suspended without pay as the mta reviews the case internally. there's a rising debate in maryland. it's all over the use of marijuana. >> and while it's illegal to use right now some people say it should be made available for those who need it for medical purposes. >> abc2 news' sherrie johnson takes a look at where this law stands and where it's going. >> reporter: well, the legislative session for 2013 begins in less than two months and there will be a push by some for medical marijuana in maryland. now supporters hope that this will accepted in colorado and washington state will actually help the bill's passage in annapolis. now bills that would have legalized drug for medical use stalled in annapolis in each of

the past two years. the concern? federal enforcement. the head of the state's department of health and mental hygiene testified before a house and senate committee in march saying the legislation under consideration could place state employees at risk of federal prosecution for violating the law. but on election day, voters in washington state and colorado approved the recreational use of marijuana. it was already legal in those states with a doctor's prescription. now sarah would like to see maryland lawmakers make medical marijuana use legal. she suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses it to control her symptoms. >> i would really like to see the governor just open the way for us. that's all. that's all. >> reporter: now a spokesperson for the governor said that he is already putting together his legislative agenda for next year so it's too early to tell whether or not that's going to be it. reporting live in federal hill, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. the popular caffeine shot five hour energy is under fire

when she talks about the fire that took her home and everything inside it. >> it was just the most horrific thing you've ever seen and i mean it's your home. it's your life. >> reporter: losing everything was devastating. but from that tragedy, this 9- year-old girl went on to create lauren's luggage. she stuffed suitcases full of blankets and night lights. children's books, and over comforts that -- other comforts that lauren says she missed in the first few hours and days after her family's fire. >> the toy, a notebook, shampoo, conditioner, soap, tried to give them to like families after fires, like blankets, stuffed animals. and kind of the essentials what would have been really helpful like that for us that night. >> you know she lost everything. she didn't have a whole lot to give but she was willing to give what he shad. >> reporter: it's donated to the organization or picked up from goodwill. good morning horn are you how?

>> do your homework now. comparison price. know what the items you're seeking, know a price range of what they're worth. because one of the red flags is if you find a deal that is so low cost, so lowballing, i say you got to and why. >> right. >> next thing we're looking at and this is where we're seeing an increase in scams, your social media, there's advertisements on the right rail. they're really drawing you to key items and some of them can release malware into the computer. they only do damage to the computer. you really have to be careful. go to the retailer. their website, and click there. some of the other things you want to look for, coupons, special things that come through e-mail. again, those links may look enticing because the content may say oh, click here for 50%. click there, and you may release

malware. take your mouse and hover over the links. if it takes tow a bogus web -- you to a bogus website stay away from it. if you're shopping at target you want the website to stay target. not something else. hover your mouse over it. and i'd athe next thing is just be -- say the next thing is just be really smart. shop with a credit card. if you're doing online shopping, use a credit card because if you do go to a bogus website and they're popping up with sound alikes, lookalikes, if you go to the bogus website and put your cred card information in and it's a scam artist, your credit card you know is gone. they're going to rack up those bills. so use a credit card debit cards you could be more responsible. it could drain your bank account. your personals. so you have more protection with the credit card. so and then just be smart. you know? don't carry your social
